  Summary of CCSM software requirements and staged implementation plan. Describes coordination of short-term DOE efforts and longer-term NASA-CAN (community framework) activities.
  
  Draft posted to Software Engineering WG page by August 18.

• Transfer of information between projects (e.g. cross review)

• DOE/NCAR should investigate existing frameworks for short-term use.

• Identification of DOE liaison for NASA-CAN activity
