The Village at Breckenridge
Aspen/Bighorn Rooms
Thursday, 27 June 2002

10:00am - 10:30am

Carbon-Climate Simulations ("Flying Leap-0") (Fung/Doney)

  • update on initial 300-year ocean-atmosphere and land-
    atmosphere carbon-climate control runs
  • recent modifications of NCOM-BGC ocean (iron-scavenging;
    physics; new equilibrium spin-up)
  • modifications LSM/CASA land model (prognostic phenology)
  • status of on-going coupled spin-up integration
  • plans for control and emission scenario integrations over
next 6 months (including possible time at Los Alamos)
10:30am - 10:50am

Ocean CCSM2.0 Developments (Doney/Lindsay/Moore)

  • completed migration of NCOM-BGC code to POP
  • new marine ecosystem implementation
  • plans for coupled, equilibrium ecosystem -- BGC simulations
10:50am - 11:30am

Land CCSM2.0 Developments (Thornton/Bonan/Mahowald)

  • review of revised CLM2.1 code structure
  • proposed land C/N biogeochemistry elements (funtionality,
  • progress on other relevant issues (dust, VOS, dynamic
    vegetation, ...)
11:30am - 12:30pm Lunch (on your own)
12:30pm - 1:30pm Community Presentations of Entrepenurial Research (*if interested,
please contact working group chairs ASAP*)
1:30pm - 2:30pm Discussion on Plans for CCSM2 - BGC
  • baseline carbon-climate model in CCSM2 (Doney)
  • proposal for dust-iron-marine ecosystem experiments
  • reactive chemistry (E. Holland)
2:30pm - 3:00pm Open Discussion/Other Issues (Doney/Fung)
