Agenda
Breckenridge, Colorado
Breckenridge is a quaint, Victorian town in the Colorado
mountains that has become an extremely popular ski resort destination.
Founded as a mining camp in 1859, Breckenridge sits at 9600 feet at
the base of the Continental Divide and along the Blue River. The
weather in June could be around 70 degrees, but temperatures in the
evening are cool and often call for a sweater or jacket. There may
also be occasional brief showers in the afternoons.
Registration
The workshop is open, but space is limited. Therefore, scientists
interested in attending the workshop must send in the registration form.
Registration forms can also be mailed or faxed if necessary. All
participants MUST register, although registration may not guarantee
attendance depending on availability of space. Limited travel funds
may be available, and the registration form should indicate details of
financial requirements for support.
Lodging (Please make reservations EARLY!)
We have secured a group rate at The Village at Breckenridge
Resort for the workshop. (Pleaste Note: This is a different
location from that of last year's workshop.) We have reserved a block

One Bedroom Suite $118.00
Two Bedroom Suite $138.00

You can actually see floor plans of all these rooms by looking at

10.9%. These rates will be honored before and after the
conclusion of the CSM Workshop, based on availability.

mention that you
are staying at The Village for the CSM Workshop to get the
group rate. Please make
your reservation EARLY or at least by May 21, 1998, as the block will be
released after that
date. A credit card will be requested to guarantee your room, but no
charges will be billed until check-out. The Village will also accept
a personal check or money order as a deposit. Deposits are refundable
if notice of cancellation is received by The Village at least 72 hours
prior to arrival. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m.; check-out time is 10:00

Continental Breakfasts and Receptions
Continental breakfasts, including bagels, muffins, pastries, coffee,

the meeting room.
There will be a reception on Monday and Tuesday evenings following the
meeting at The Village. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Transportation (Please make reservations EARLY!)
There are two major airports that you can fly into to get to
Breckenridge: Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs

Recreation, Restaurants, and Shopping
Breckenridge is packed with shops and restaurants, too many to list
here. The Village Resort has several restaurants on site as well.
Breckenridge is a major tourist destination all 12 months of the year. If you plan to come early or stay longer and would like to take advantage of some of the great activities offered in the area, it would be well worth the effort to get a vacation guide from the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at 1-800-221-1091.
