CESM1.1 Timing Table

General Notes:

  • This information is constantly subject to change due to changes in the model or machine hardware and software. Each entry contains information about the CESM1 version and the date of the test.
  • This is a sortable table, click on the headings to perform a descending or ascending sort. (Note: the tool sorts based on character string, not numerical value).
  • A clickable link for each entry in the Compset column takes you to the raw timing output file.
  • Please contribute to this timing table by sending a raw CCSM timing file and information about your hardware (including a web link if possible) to cesm-help@cgd.ucar.edu.

  • The machines are:

  • yellowstone = NCAR IBM iDataPlex Intel Sandy Bridge, 16-way, 2.6 GHz, infiniband interconnect, 32 Gb/node
    (Note: edison users should use the same layouts as yellowstone and will see slightly better performance.
  • hopper = NERSC Cray XE6, dual 12-cores, AMD 2.1 GHz, Gemini interconnect, 32 Gb/node
  • intrepid = ANL IBM Blue Gene/P, Quad-Core 850 MHz PowerPC 450, 2 GB/node
